The checking acct balance is never right. Today, I received a notice of an update (revision to the program), this is rev #5, and each revision is pages long. My suggestion is, at this time, if you have another program that is working for you, stay with it for now.

Although this might be a slight hassle Quicken was able to download the last 1 1/2 years from most of my accounts so I don’t see myself looking up many things older than this.

But the overall poor experiences over the last several months are totally unacceptable. I’ll be looking for other financial management software effective immediately. It is even more insulting that they disabling features on software I purchased (ie disabling QIF imports on Quicken 2007) so that I have to upgrade. The search and search-n-replace feature is worse than before. Be patient – read the instructions! I have been using Quicken for my personal and small business financial organization since 2002.

Another issue I have is that with the new version I can no longer back it up to a DVD RW for some reason. I am smiling right now just because the situation is so laughably bad.

One of the worst features about Quicken is that the free support is very short lived after buying the product, then it is quite expensive to get help, and often the problem is one of their own. This is my semi-annual purchase/upgrade of H&B. It does the job well for my small business and keeps the tax categories somewhat straight.
